Hotel Delmon, Goa is a two-star hotel located in the capital city of Panaji. Panaji, means 'land that never floods', is situated on the banks of River Mandovi. Although Panaji is the capital of Goa, it is the third largest city in Goa, after Vasco da Gama and Margao. Goa was a Portuguese colony for approximately 450 long years, after which it was annexed by the Indian government in 1961. Portuguese arrived here as merchant's way back in the 16th century, but acquired the state aterwards. Because of which one can see a number of Indo-Portuguese style buildings in almost every part of Goa. Fontainhas, located in Panaji, still shows it resemblance with the Portuguese Goa along with its culture and architecture.
